One of the best things about our annual family beach trips has been the opportunity for our daughters to be close to their aunts and uncles and cousins. The girls have always had a bit of a grudge that they don’t have cousins their own ages. The cousin closest to them in age is a year younger than April, my youngest, and is on not on the beach trip side of the family. The cousins that we vacation with are all much younger than my girls. In spite of the age differences, the cousins have been wonderfully close throughout the years. Watching them bond has been a joy to me.
This year we start a new legacy of cousin bonding as my first two grandbabies have their first family beach trip. They will also begin the bonding process with their second cousins and extended family. What an exciting time for all of us!
